Arts Day Camps

Musical Theatre
For middle school and high school students 
Two weeks: June 19-30 
Mon.- Fri. 9am to 3 pm $120 tuition
No previous experience is needed.

Enrollment is limited to 30. Be a part of the musical theatre production, “It’s Saturday,” featuring the songs ”It’s Saturday,” ”Time for Toons” and “the Boogie Woogie Piano Teaching Man.” It will be under the direction of Karen Hughes and Dianna George.

Camp schedule will be:
9:00 Music
10:00 Theatre arts
11:00 Dance
12:00 Lunch (bring a sack lunch)
1-3 pm. rehearsals in the theatre

The performance of “It’s Saturday” willbe Friday June 30, in the Soo Theatre.

Elementary Arts Exploration I 

This camp is for children who have completed grades 1-3.
July 31-August 4 
Mon.-Fri. 9 am. to 3pm.
No previous experience is needed.
Enrollment is limited to 30 Tuition $60

Join the fun mixing music, dance, acting and art into an amazing musical play. Instructors will be Dianna George, Dottie Case and Nancy Powers. Students will bring a sack lunch. Snacks and all materials will be provided.

Elementary Arts Exploration II

This camp is for children who have completed grades 4 and 5.
August 7-11 Mon–Fri. 9 am to 3 pm.
No previous experience is needed.
Enrollment is limited to 30 Tuition $60

Take an adventure into the world of music, dance, theatre and art. Try new ways of doing music and art. Dance and act with a new rhythm.  Instructors will be Dianna George, Dottie Case, and Nancy Powers with guest artists. Students will bring a sack lunch. Snacks and all materials will 
be provided.

Chamber Music for advanced middle school and high school string players. Play in a quartet or trio and receive coaching from Dottie Case. Call for details. 

“Not Quite Ready for Prime Time” Players 
Do you have a violin, viola, cello or string bass in the closet that you played years ago? Or are you learning to play a string instrument for the first time as an adult? STARS is interested in offering an opportunity for adults who would like to play music with others just for fun. Call Nancy Powers at STARS. 

Private lessons are available on violin, viola, cello, piano, clarinet and flute. Instructors are Dottie Case, Nancy Powers and Meg Stevens. Vocal coaching by Karen Hughes is also available. Schedules and fees vary with the instructor. Call for details.

STARS programming is supported in part by a grant from the Chippewa County Community Foundation Youth Advisory Committee.
