Photos of the inside of the Soo Theatre and the ongoing restoration effort: The Soo Theatre Marquee. Note the stack of decorative lattice recently removed from the outside of the building.
BEHIND THE SCREENS
This area was once the stage, before the Soo Theatre became solely a movie house.
Remnants of the old Fly System. This system of ropes and counterweights was used to fly scenic drops and lights in and out.
ARCHITECTURE
Column capitals waiting to be restored.
An example of the original wall, behind the acoustic curtains which are currently lining the walls.

If you would like more information about the Soo Theatre Project or would like to find out how you can help, please email us. When the Soo Theatre was converted to a movie house, it was divided into two theatres: This is the Red Theatre.
THE LOBBY
Looking up under the suspended ceiling. Note the detailed molding and stucco, remnants of the original architecture.
Mike Muth during a recent clean-up day. You can see that much of the suspended ceiling has been removed, as well as the drywall, revealing the original stucco walls.
More of what was once hidden behind drywall...note the molding from the earlier photo.
A lobby display, a remnant of when the theatre was last in operation.
