This area was once the stage, before the Soo Theatre became solely a movie house.

 

 

Remnants of the old fly system

Remnants of the old Fly System.  This system of ropes and counterweights was used to fly scenic drops and lights in and out.

The Red Theatre

When the Soo Theatre was converted to a movie house, it was divided into two theatres: This is the Red Theatre.

THE LOBBY

Looking up under the suspended ceiling.  Note the detailed molding and stucco, remnants of the original architecture.
